THE BAND

Bowel Mouth has been playing throughout the Melbourne underground music scene for over five years, and have established themselves as one of Melbourne's live Metal institutions. With a strong and ever growing fan base, the BowelMovement have been gaining momentum steadily since late 1998. With three demo's behind them, the much anticipated debut album was finally released January of this year. For the band, the launch of "Bowel Mouth Burger Grill" has marked the beginning of a new era in their metal career and is a culmination of the hundreds of entertaining live shows they have played.

Bowel Mouth have played with the creamy goodness of the Australian metal crop. Such acts as Devolved, The Wolves, Frankenbok, The Berzerker, Blooduster, Psycroptic, Alarum, Abrasion, Uncle Chunk, Clauz, Running with Scissors, Truth Corroded, Deaths Boundaries, Omnium Gatherum, Block, and many many more... Plus they have had tours to Adelaide, Sydney and regional Victorian centers on numerous occasions over the last three years.

Bowel Mouth's unique style of metal combines your classic thrash with a more contemporary edge, including elements of death, grind and a glimps of funk. With influences from many bands spanning many genre, Bowel Mouth's songs take on the form of metal limericks. Each song is short, sharp and cum on your face good. The music and songs speak for themselves and take a lighthearted and comical approach to metal, finding inspiration not in Satan but your humble dick and fart jokes.

Sometimes described as the court jester of the Melbourne scene, there is no joking when it comes to the quality of Bowel Mouth's live shows. They are tight as a tin can full of spam and they take pride in being that way. There is no question that the dynamics of the band stem from their members love of playing live and entertaining a crowd. Sometimes referred to by the band members as 'relief metal', the crowd has always responded in a positive way to the Bowel Mouth brand of metal. Crowd participation is always encouraged, and sex always seems to come up.

Bowel Mouth has formed many alliances over the years. One such alliance was with Jeff Rule and 'The Red Stink of Metal' on PBS FM. Playing live to air during open week in 2001 was just one of the many shows the band was involved with. Recently appearing on Syn TV has also seen Bowel Mouth show support for the dwindling Melbourne metal scene which is in dire need of a kick up the ass, taking any chance to promote not only their product but the medley of other great bands this city has to offer.

RETROSPECT

Bowel Mouth started back in 1995 as a dream in the minds of two young longhaired metal heads, the vision was to start a band. To play loud, to be rude, and most of all, to be metal!

In 1997, Bowel Mouth was ready. Peter Searle was on bass, Paul Cerolini had arrived on drums and Trent Simpson was on guitar and vocals.
Two demo CD's were recorded, many gigs were played and many friends were made, the Bowel Movement had begun.
The year 2000 arrived and Bowel Mouth was cruising until one frosty morning when a letter was found, this letter was the resignation of Pete, his decision was regretful. Pete had to move on.

Hastily, 'Bec', a shining star in the metal underground, replaced Pete. She took the job and showed Melbourne what a girl should be made of. The band stature was rising, Bec had breathed a new life into Bowel Mouth and once again the Bowel Movement continued.
At this stage Bowel Mouth were making a name for themselves, better gigs, radio play, and interstate shows.
It was 2001 when again, another bombshell was dropped, Paul was also to leave the band.

What to do? Where to go? What was the future of Bowel Mouth? As it turned out, the future was bright, when from the poo-brown darkness shone an icon named 'Jimmy' a long time friend of Trent.
Bowel Mouth was once again complete. Stronger, louder, ruder and more metal than ever.

Love,
Max, Roxy & Jimmy
